On my recent trip to the USA, I found myself thinking a lot about the work we do at Creative Hands and our motto “Create, Support and Inspire”. I even shared on these three points in some churches where I had opportunities to speak about our work.
INSPIRE

As I look back at conversations in churches, at a dinner or lunch table with new and old friends, I walked away inspired to continue running the race with strength and grace. One of the things I shared with some friends is that when I think of the work at Creative Hands, I do not believe that it is only those of us working hands that Inspire but women around the world inspire us as well. Many times, I’ve heard people comment at how beautifully woven our products are. I even remember during the Global Focus Week at Liberty University in Virginia when students and faculty members would stop by our table to say how beautiful our products were and some even purchased, some stopped by to pray with us and others took our information brochures promising to continue praying for us. Then, when I visited different churches in different states and cities, many kept on reminding us that we are in this together and urged us to never give up and to know that we are covered in prayer, love and that they believe in the mission. I am coming back home a bit tired but very inspired to think of what else we can do to make our brand continue to stand out and grow. Truly all those that we encounter and those we did not get to see on this trip still inspire us and cheer us onward. We would like to thank our friends who truly inspire us and remind us of the song by Steve Green titled “Find us Faithful”. There is a line in the song which says, “May the lives we lead, lead them to believe...”
SUPPORT

This is part of our motto at Creative Hands and again as I reflect on my trip to the USA I realize how blessed I am that together with the team at Creative Hands we can say, “yes, we do support our women in their quest to learn a new skill and grow in it” and then when they start working we continue supporting them in their growth. But honestly without the support of the Body of Christ around the globe we would not be able to support the women in our community effectively. The support we have received even before Creative Hands came into being and continues to grow is like fuel that causes us to continue to run this race even when the going gets tough. I personally know first -hand what support I have received from loved ones, even on this trip. People opened their homes to me and made room at their tables so I could share home cooked meals and many put miles in their cars as they took me shopping or to different meetings. Without this support I do not think I would be able to do what I do. I am truly grateful for the friends who love our work so much that they continue to share about our work and invite their friends and families into our circle as we continue growing. So, we support and we get support and we will continue supporting because we know that we are not alone in this. One of the things I witnessed on this trip was that there were days I grew tired and exhausted and all I had to do was send a message and ask for prayer and then know that people have prayed. Prayer support is one of the greatest gifts that people can give us which helps us in sharing the love of the Father with the women who come through our doors.
CREATE

We also talk about how at Creative Hands we aim to see women create beautiful products. I was sharing with a group of youth at 2 Rivers Church in St. Louis MO about why weaving is important to us. One of the things I shared with them is that weaving on the loom reminds us of how God is weaving the different threads of our lives to make beautiful tapestries that combine the great moments, seasons of our lives and the not so great and sometimes sorrowful experiences which at the end of the day is what makes us who we are. When we visit with churches, families and friends we are creating memories through sharing stories of what God is doing on the mission field and they tell us their stories of what God is doing in their families and communities and together we see that truly God is working to create a beautiful community everywhere that reflects His nature and character and in the process, He is restoring, redeeming and nurturing His bride.
So truly, at the end of the day, it is EVERYONE who is involved with Creative Hands who CREATE, SUPPORT AND INSPIRE. What a beautiful picture we are weaving together. Thank you.
